Poetry and Code

Updated: Mar 4, 2019

Class: Reading and Writing Text

Professor: Allison Parish

First week assignment was my first attempt to make poetry with the assistance of code. Who would have thought? Yes, computers can help put your thoughts into words, even better, in a poetic form. Do you ever experienced blanking out where you cam only think of words to describe somewhat how you feel, but for some reason, the words can't form a complete sentence?

Tool: Python 3

Inspiration: To all the women that have played a part in my life, including my Grandmother who recently passed away in Jan 2019.

A hour of joy She wants to touch inside her veins A moment of satisfaction She wants to hold on to inside her nostrils A minute of anger She wants to choke inside her throat A hour of satisfaction She wants to squeeze inside her heart A week of peace She wants to squeeze inside her nostrils A week of confusion She wants to touch inside her throat A week of peace She wants to touch inside her veins A hour of anger She wants to touch inside her nostrils A week of joy She wants to choke inside her throat A minute of satisfaction She wants to choke inside her throat A minute of satisfaction She wants to choke inside her heart A second of fear She wants to hold on to inside her nostrils A week of satisfaction She wants to let go inside her head A day of joy She wants to hold on to inside her nostrils
